Body as Art Photography

What is a Boudoir Session?

Glamour sessions are tasteful photos with a hint at sexiness. Everyone has their own idea of what sexy is as well as what comfort level they have with it in front of the camera. There are generally 6 types of “looks” that make up a glamour session and they are:

Classic Beauty – Feminine, beautiful images with a subtle implied sexuality that makes the viewer say “ Wow, what a beautiful image”.

Fashion – This is more related to what one might see in a magazine advertisement for jewelry or clothing. The focus is more on the item the model is wearing than the model herself

Artistic – This type of image is most often associated with what you would see in an art gallery. The focus is on form, not faces. In fact most of the time the face isn’t seen in the image and if it is shown, the eyes will be looking away from the camera. Bodyscapes is a good example of this.

Pin-up – Sexy, cute, 1940’s look where the expression and body language make the image memorable.

Sensual – Images that provoke the senses of the viewer to desire the subject of the photo, through facial expressions, body position and by what can and can’t be seen in the image.

Provocative – This type of image really needs no explanation. They may look assertive or playful, but they demand to be looked at. Usually the subject has direct eye contact with the camera with an air of confidence.

Body Image & Weight

Most women do not have the body of a supermodel, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have gorgeous, sexy, pictures of yourself. As a professional photographer, Mr. Efstathiou knows how to highlight your assets and disguise the parts of your body that you are self conscious about. Also, remember your significant other loves you just the way you are!

Hair & Make-up

Many ladies are very proficient at doing their own hair and make-up. However, there are additional options available for those that wish to go the extra mile! Going to your favorite salon or department store make-up counter to even having your hair and make-up stylist present at your glamour session are not uncommon and sometimes offers the optimum result the client desires.

Clothing and Themes

Bring what you feel sexy wearing, bras, panties, booty shorts, corsets, garter belts, stockings, teddies, tank tops and men’s button down business shirt are always favorites. Should you decide to have a theme for your session, there are many online stores that carry police uniforms, nurse outfits, school girl outfits, construction belts, and 40’s pin-up style clothing.

Modesty & Nudity

You don’t have to take your clothes off to be sexy! Clothed, partially clothed, hinted nudity and full nudity can all be very sexy. The photographer will consult with all clients before a photo session to determine the clients comfort level so that he knows what parts the client prefers to keep discrete. As the photo shoot progresses, some clients may feel comfortable exhibiting more attributes, and that can be conveyed to the photographer when that occurs.

Glamour / Boudoir Parties

Have a glamour party with your friends at your house or a nice hotel. This is guaranteed to be a lot of fun and laughs for everyone. You can have a make-up and hair artist present, or you can do each other’s hair and make-up. As each girl gets dressed or (undressed) she will be taken to a private area to be photographed alone. At the end of the night we will do a group photo with all of you together. Best of all, the party hostess will get her shoot and photos on the house with a minimum of 5 guests!
